- However, we don’t expect Disney+ to start until mid-2024 at the earliest, and it could take even longer for Netflix.
- Season 5 celebrates its German premiere in early July 2023 on Wow and Sky.
“The Rookie” fans are confused. After Season 4 premiered on Disney+ in May 2022, they assumed that Season 5 would also premiere on Disney+ again. However, the first broadcast licenses have now migrated to Sky One and Wow, because season 5 of “The Rookie” will start there on July 5, 2023.
Netflix and Amazon are also showing at least seasons 1-4 of the popular ABC series. But when is “The Rookie” Season 5 coming to Netflix and Disney+?

There are no official release dates for Season 5 of The Rookie on Disney+ and Netflix yet. Due to the rather opaque rights situation in the series, it is also difficult to estimate when the series will appear on the streaming services.
Season 4 of “The Rookie” started on May 25th, 2022 with two episodes on Disney+. The last episode of season 4 was released on the streaming service on August 3rd, 2022. Season 4 of “The Rookie” started on July 1, 2023 on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video – Sky and Wow scheduled the episodes on June 2, 2023, almost a year after the Disney+ launch.
So it is possible that Sky and Wow now have the exclusive broadcasting rights to “The Rookie” Season 5 for almost a year. With the start on July 5, 2023, customers of Disney +, Netflix and Amazon Prime Video could not see the new episodes until June or July 2024.
When will season 5 appear on ZDFneo?
Season 4 of “The Rookie” was shown on ZDFneo two months after the last episode was released on Disney+. On November 29, 2023, the final episode of season 5 will be shown on Sky and Wow, so season 5 of “The Rookie” may start as early as spring 2024 on ZDFneo.
