Coastal, peri-urban, geographical or imaginary west: residential attractiveness, boosted by the movements of retirees, the choices of senior executives and now by teleworking, upsets territorial balances. In addition, these movements call into question the effectiveness of policies aimed at limiting the nuisance of private cars. While some peri-urban or coastal towns are experiencing impressive demographic growth, the State seems to be absent, and continues to strengthen the economic weight of Greater Paris.
To discuss these issues, “Le Monde” is organising, in partnership with the Forum Vies mobiles, a symposium entitled “La Ruée vers l’Ouest”. The event will take place in the auditorium of the World67-69, avenue Pierre Mendès-France, in Paris 13e borough, Thursday, January 19, 2023, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
