An undeniable success for the fourth processor Ryzen featuring AMD’s 3D-V Cache technology.
You didn’t have to be a great cleric to imagine that the Ryzen 7 7800X3D had all the cards in hand to become one of AMD’s bestsellers. We now have at least partial proof of this.
Excellent results since its release
Launched last April by AMD, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D only arrived a month after the Ryzen 9 7950X3D and Ryzen 9 7900X3D… as a way for AMD to leave some room for its “heavyweights”.
Upon its release, the youngest had been favored by buyers with sales exceeding those of its big brothers. More importantly, while the Ryzen 7 7800X3D launched at the same price as the Ryzen 7 5800X3D in its day, the newcomer clearly does better.
Thus, the figures concerning the important German reseller Mindfactory show a doubling of sales over the same post-launch period, in favor of the Ryzen 7 7800X3D.
Twice as sold as the 5800X3D in its time
In detail, while Mindfactory had sold 2,510 Ryzen 7 5800X3D over a few weeks after its release in April 2022, the reseller distributed no less than 4,720 Ryzen 7 7800X3D over the same period.
These very precise results concern only one reseller – however important it may be – in a single country. However, this success does not seem to be limited to our German neighbours. Thus, Newegg’s May 2023 bestseller ranking places the Ryzen 7 7800X3D in fifth position near much less expensive AMD processors like the Ryzen 7 5700X and Ryzen 5 5600.
At Amazon, it is regularly in the top 5, again ahead of the same AMD chip duo as well as Intel’s Core i9-13900K. Other resellers displaying this type of ranking confirm the excellent position of the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, which is not the best in “production”, but does not fear anyone when it comes to video games.
