The Samsung Galaxy S23 would maximize its autonomy with a few tricks

We know a little more about the Galaxy S23 and how Samsung intends to offer better autonomy on its flagships.

Autonomy remains today a very important criterion for the purchase of a smartphone with the quality of the camera. To increase the autonomy, there are not 30 solutions, it is necessary either to increase the capacity of the battery, or to reduce the consumption of the device. Samsung would count on having it both ways for the Galaxy S23.

A Light mode for less consumption

First of all, to reduce consumption, Ice Universe informs us on Twitter that the Galaxy S23 would integrate a performance profile “Light“. This is an option that allows you to reduce the performance of the device to reduce its consumption. Samsung says it’s “prioritize battery life over cooling and speed“.

Please note that this setting has no impact on video games. The latter are entitled to a dedicated performance profile to be set in the “GameBooster“. It is therefore in other words a low power mode, but where the drop in performance would not be as significant.

A bigger battery

The information is not new, we recall here other leaks around the Galaxy S23. Samsung should increase the battery capacity of the different models. Added to the Light mode, this should significantly increase the autonomy of smartphones.

The Galaxy S23 should thus integrate a 3900 mAh battery, or 200 mAh more than in a Galaxy S22. The Galaxy S23 + should be entitled to a 4700 mAh battery, again 200 mAh more than its predecessor.
