Samsung begins rolling out a first update for the Galaxy S24 in South Korea, a few weeks after their release. Enough to show the quality of software monitoring at Samsung.
The Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra are already entitled to an OTA update in South Korea. It does not revolutionize the latest, already good Samsung smartphones, but rather corrects a few features. It should be available in the United States from February 22, and probably soon after in France.
What this first update for the Galaxy S24 brings
554 MB: this is the size of this update available in South Korea, which brings improvements requested by users, as well as the February 2024 security patch. The main addition is that of a new screen vividness slider: this is what allows you to customize the colors of the screen. Indeed, several users had pointed out that the colors in the vivid display mode were not colorful enough, too bland. The vivid mode, set by default, has been changed, and the new slider allows you to add saturation. Finally, an option “ sharpness » has been made to the screen mode in the display settings in order to achieve even more vivid colors.
The photo also suddenly changes. The quality of photos in high definition backlit mode becomes better: the brightness has been adjusted. If you love taking photos of your dishes, you’re in for a treat: Galaxy S24 smartphones integrate more color data to reflect that of your dishes. Night mode has also been improved: Samsung says it has adjusted the saturation and white balance. In the Expert RAW application, when zooming in images, the quality is better than before.
Improvements coming to the Galaxy S24 Ultra
The Galaxy S24 Ultra is currently the most advanced smartphone available on the market and Samsung knows it. This is why some changes are limited to this model only. For example, text clarity is better when using a zoom that enlarges the image a lot. Always backlit, subjects that move quickly are better captured. Furthermore, the exposure and color expression of subjects should be even better.
In the preview when you take a photo, the brightness of dark areas is better indoors, especially people: so you can better see what the final photo will look like in HDR.
