It is during the month of August that Samsung should officially lift the veil around its future folding smartphonethe Galaxy Z Fold 4. But, while waiting to discover all its secrets, the new model in the Z Fold range could well become the lightest smartphone in its category to be released in 2022.

Yesterday, we discovered that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 could finally offer a design change. Today, it’s the Galaxy Z Fold 4’s turn to be talked about again in the vast galaxy of smartphones.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4: what weight on the scale?

As is very often the case, it was the Ice Universe tipster, on Twitter, who was the first to share the information with us: the weight of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 would not be 258 grams or 260 grams, contrary to what some hallway noises might suggest.

Indeed, the next folding smartphone model from Samsung would actually weigh no more than 254 grams, which would make it the lightest smartphone in its category on the market. Thus, it would be even lighter than the Huawei Mate Xs 2, which is already available on the Chinese market and which weighs 255 grams.

Reducing the weight of a mobile device as much as possible is a major challenge for all manufacturers in the industry, and more particularly when it comes to folding smartphones. Anyway, from the top of its 254 grams, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 therefore becomes 5% lighter than its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold 3, which displayed no less than 271 grams on the scale.
