The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, equipped with a giant photo sensor and a large battery, is positioned as a serious competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5.
While rumors suggested that the group behind Vivo was going to abandon the foldable format, the brand is back in force with a particularly impressive smartphone: the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro.
This newcomer to the foldable smartphone market is positioned as a serious competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, and for good reason: it has undeniable advantages, particularly in terms of photography.
A giant photo sensor
The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro stands out from the foldable competition thanks to its sensor 1/1.3 inch OV50H, a relatively huge size for a foldable smartphone. This sensor equips the main 50 megapixel camera, with an f/1.65 aperture.
But that’s not all: the main camera and the periscope telephoto lens are optically stabilized. The OV64B 64 megapixel telephoto lens, macro compatible, offers a maximum zoom of 30x. Finally, the 50-megapixel ISOCELL JN1 ultra-wide angle with F/2.0 aperture completes this shocking trio. Thanks to the Vivo V3 ISP and the Zeiss T* coating, Vivo promises interesting performance.
A large battery and ultra-fast charging
Despite its featherweight of 236 grams, for a foldable smartphone, the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro includes a 5,700 mAh battery, an impressive capacity. But that’s not all: this battery can be charged at a maximum power of 100 watts via cable, and 50 watts wirelessly.
The Vivo X Fold3 Pro also has the advantage of being the first foldable smartphone to be equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the latest high-end chip from Qualcomm. Coupled with compatibility with Wi-Fi 7, it is also 5G obviously.
A slim and elegant design
With a thickness of only 5.2 mm when unfolded, the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro is particularly thin. Even folded, its thickness does not exceed 11.2 mm, a real feat when we consider the substantial battery it carries.
On the screen side, the Vivo X Fold3 Pro does not disappoint either. The main OLED screen is 8.03 inches, with a definition of 2480 by 2200 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a maximum brightness of 4,500 nits. As for the secondary screen, it displays a diagonal of 6.53 inches, with a definition of 2748 × 1172 pixels and a refresh rate also of 120 Hz.
Finally, the Vivo X Fold3 Pro comes with OriginOS 4, based on Android 14.
For the moment, no announcement has been made concerning its marketing in France, where the presence of Vivo has been on hold for several months.
