Stunning image quality

With its 27-inch diagonal and 5K definition, the ViewFinity S9 displays an impressive resolution of 218 ppi. The rendered image is therefore ideally sharp and detailed; for photo editing or video editing, it’s excellent.

HDR rendering is successful and benefits from wide colorimetry, with DCI-P3 coverage of 98.2%. Colors are faithful, with an average Delta E of 1.72, for a precise and vivid image.

Apart from high definition and image quality, the Samsung ViewFinity S9 PC screen also stands out thanks to its multiple features, such as MultiView (displaying the image from several sources on a single screen), Smart Calibration (for calibration) or Intelligent Eye Care (which adjusts temperature, color, etc. based on ambient brightness, to reduce eye fatigue).

What is the Samsung model worth compared to competition of the same price?

Even if there is between €300 and €400 difference between the two models in favor of Samsung, the ViewFinity S9 screen is intended to be a direct competitor to Apple’s Studio Display.

In terms of definition, Samsung’s device wins, especially thanks to its higher definition (5K versus 4K for Apple’s screen). On the ecosystem side, the two interfaces compete, both in terms of intuitiveness and functionality. It all depends on your preference.

The difference will mainly be in the audio part: disappointing for the Samsung model, excellent for the Apple screen. But is it worth the extra hundreds of dollars, when you can invest in a dedicated audio solution, like a soundbar, with the price difference?
