Worth between 48 and 277 euros including tax, the energy check helps the most precarious households pay their electricity, gas, fuel oil or wood bills, and even some energy renovation work. 5.8 million people benefited from it in France in 2023. These are households whose reference tax income divided by the number of consumption units (CU) is less than 10,800 euros.
At the end of 2021, these beneficiaries had also received exceptional additional aid of 100 euros to cope with soaring gas and electricity prices. People who received an energy check in 2021 can use it until March 31, 2022.

A provisional calendar available online
This year, the new energy checks will be automatically sent by post between the end of March and the end of April. The date of receipt of the check will depend on the department of residence of the beneficiaries according to the calendar established on the site dedicated to the energy check. People who have already received the energy check in previous years and who have decided to automatically allocate their aid to a supplier should be informed of their benefit from the 2022 energy check between 11 and 22 April.
Energy check 2022: who will receive it, and when?
The government has published a provisional calendar of shipments according to the departments. This schedule is likely to change depending on the final volume of energy checks transmitted in each department.
