Even several years after the end of the series, secrets of filming of “The Scott Brothers” continue to come out in the media. Right now, it’s a deleted scene with a star “Desperate Housewives” actress that’s making the buzz.
It has now been more than 10 years since Les Frères Scott bowed out. And even after all these years, behind-the-scenes anecdotes from the cult series continue to trickle out.
Through the “Drama Queens” podcast, Hilarie Burton (Peyton), Sophia Bush (Brooke) and Bethany Joy Lenz (Haley) reveal information on cut scenes, couples who could have formed on screen or even moments which made them uncomfortable on set.
An enigmatic deleted scene
Last January, a video of the original Scott Brothers pilot leaked on Tik Tok. For the first time, fans got a glimpse of what the show would have been like if Haley hadn’t existed. And for the past few days, another passage from season 1, cut during editing, has been making the rounds on social networks.
In this scene from Episode 9, we can see Peyton and Haley at a homeless shelter where Nathan’s future wife is volunteering. The latter wants to introduce her friend to a young girl who reminds her a lot of Peyton, because she thinks they will get along very well.
They then open the bedroom door and discover Stella, a rebellious teenager who has a passion for drawing, like Peyton. If the young woman does not show herself to be very warm with the two friends, Peyton later decides to come back alone to show her her drawings.
Unfortunately, the character of Stella was cut during editing. So it’s unclear what the writers wanted to do with her and Peyton’s relationship. Perhaps the three actresses will come back to this character in future podcasts…
A star of Desperate Housewives in The Brothers Scott?
If no one had ever seen Stella’s face until today, the identity of the actress who played her is very well known to fans of Desperate Housewives. It is indeed Andrea Bowen, who camped Julie, the daughter of Susan (Teri Hatcher) in the series, who played this character. It is difficult today to imagine that, if her character had been kept in Les Frères Scott, she could have not played in Desperate Housewives…
