From 2003 to 2012, the American channel The CW (formerly The WB) broadcast One Tree Hillknown in France as the Scott Brothers, a teen series centered on the high school life of two basketball brothers, Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) and Nathan (James Lafferty) Scott. In just a few months, the young interpreters of Tree Hill high school students, Chad Michael Murray and James Lafferty, but also their colleagues, Sophia Bush, Hilarie Burton and Bethany Joy Lenz, have risen to the rank of stars of the small screen. But 10 years after the end of the series, what have they become?
Chad Michael Murray
After six years in the shoes of the young prodigy Lucas Scott, Chad Michael Murray left One Tree Hill in May 2009, at the end of season 6. Since then, the ex-husband of Sophia Bush has continued his acting career, both on the small and on the big screen. In dark rooms, he notably held the leading role in the western Outlaws and Angels (2016), by JT Mollner, and starred opposite Bruce Willis in the action thriller Survive the Night (2020), by Matt Eskandari. On the small screen, the now 40-year-old actor has made various appearances in Scream QueensAgent Carter and Riverdale. And on the heart side, this one shares his life with the actress Sarah Roemer, met in 2014 on the set of the series Chosen. The couple have two children, a boy and a girl, born in 2015 and 2017 respectively.
Hilarie Burton
Like her on-screen partner Chad Michael Murray, Hilarie Burton left The Scott brothers at the end of its sixth chapter. The one who played Peyton Sawyer found a leading role the year after her departure, in 2010, since she played Sarah Ellis in the series White Collarbroadcast until 2013. She also made a notable appearance in Grey’s Anatomybefore settling for recurring roles in Hostages, Lethal Weapon or Council of Dads. In 2021, she also made an appearance in the series The Walking Dead alongside her husband in life, Jeffrey Dean Morganwith whom she has two children: Augustus, born in 2010, and George Virginia, born in 2018. She is now 39 years old.
James Lafferty
James Lafferty held the role of Nathan Scott from the first to the last episode of One Tree Hill. Once released from his obligations in Wilmington, the young actor played Mr. Nash in the series Crisisthen made appearances in Underground and The Haunting of Hill House. In 2021, he reunited with his former colleague from Scott BrothersStephen Colletti, to the production of Everyone is doing great, a series centered on the crossing of the desert of two actors, Seth and Jeremy. In real life, the 36-year-old comedian is engaged to Australian actress Alexandra Park. They have no children.
Bethany Joy Lenz
After nine years in the skin of Hayley James Scott, Bethany Joy Lenz has multiplied appearances in successful series. She first held a recurring role in dexterbefore appearing in Agents of SHIELD, Colony then Grey’s Anatomy. At the same time, the 40-year-old actress is pursuing her musical career. His latest solo album, titled Snowwas released in December 2020. Since her 2012 divorce from musician Michael Galeotti, with whom she has a daughter, she is officially single.
Sophia Bush
Since the end of One Tree Hill, Sophia Bush also continued her career in television. From 2012 to 2013, she held the leading role in the sitcom Partnerson CBS. She then joined NBC’s Chicago franchise, playing Detective Erin Lindsay in Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, Chicago Med and ChicagoJustice. She also appeared in Jane the Virgin, This Is Us and Love, Victorbefore producing the series Good Samon CBS, of which she also holds the leading role. Outside the film sets, Sophia Bush is also very active in the fight against sexual harassment, which she herself suffered on the set of One Tree Hill.
