the screenwriter of Deus Ex is working well on the game

The arrival of the scriptwriter of the recent Deus Ex games or the Guardians of the Galaxy, Mary DeMarle, at BioWare is becoming clearer. She chose her camp, that of Mass Effect 5.

No more doubt, between the fantasy of Dragon Age: Dreadwolf and the science fiction of Mass Effect 5, screenwriter Mary DeMarle did not hesitate for a second.

The author of Deus Ex in the service of Mass Effect 5

Just yesterday, we discovered that Mary DeMarle, screenwriter on Deus Ex Mankind Divided, Deus Ex Human Revolution and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, had quietly left Eidos Montreal for BioWare. But without communication from him, we were in the dark about his first mission. Michael Gamble, director on the next Mass Effect, spilled the beans for him:

Oh, hey! I am very proud to announce to you that Mary DeMarle to Join Mass Effect 5 Team as Narrative Director. You may have seen his work through Guardians of the Galaxy & Deus Ex (just to name a few). She is incredible.

The SF universe is therefore a world that is far from unknown for the writer who will have to revitalize the franchise. Mass Effect Andromeda had indeed divided the players. Let’s also hope for better technique.

The start of development…don’t be in too much of a rush

Apart from a two-year-old teaser, Mass Effect 5 is discreet. The main reason for this is that the exit is still far, far away. Here is what BioWare said a few weeks ago:

There’s also the next game in the Mass Effect universe, which has now entered early development. We will have to wait a while before we can talk about it in more detail. But we can’t wait to show you what we’re working on.

Nothing to worry about, especially since veterans are back at the helm.
