The screenwriter talks about his ideas for the sequel

The Star Wars Obi-wan series has just ended and a season 2 is already in discussion. So much so that a screenwriter from Disney is already talking about his ideas.

We suspect that for a work like Star Wars, a scenario must be prepared a long time in advance and germinate in the minds of the scriptwriters. Thus for Obi-Wan, one of the designers who is none other than Stuart Beattie (who notably worked on Pirate of the Caribbean) spoke at the microphone of TheDirect to talk about what could follow for the next season of Obi-Wan.

Already some (sidereal) bases for the sequel to the Star Wars series

This is what Beattie explains:

Again, it’s one of those universal things that we all struggle with, to come to terms with our own mortality. So that was the second stage of evolution for me, that Obi-Wan now has to come to terms with his own mortality, sort of in a prophecy, or Qui-Gon says to him, “There will be a time when you will have to sacrifice yourself for the good” So when this moment comes in , you will understand. For me, it was the second evolution, the second movie, the second story. For me, if there is a second season of Obi Wan, it is the evolution of the character that I would make him live. It’s really interesting. And like I said, universal.

In other words, Star Wars Obi-Wan Season 2 could be a pivotal moment in the life of the retired Jedi. A precise moment when he would learn that at some point in his life, he would have to sacrifice himself for the common good and to defeat the dark side. A kind of cathartic act so that Luke can one day defeat the threat to the Galaxy.

A season 2 already acquired?

For the moment there is no certainty concerning a sequel via a season 2. But Disney still seems more than open to the idea and is already beginning to prepare the public little by little with a lot of “small declarations” . This is how director Deborah Chow said the miniseries was planned with “a beginning, a middle and an endor Madam Star Wars (Kathleen Kennedy) explaining that it takes a fan request for this to happen. And since fans are known to be already asking… You can draw whatever conclusion you want from that.
