Mission accomplished. In liberated Kherson, November 19. Upon the invasion, Oleh became involved in Territorial Defence. Behind him, a former boarding school occupied successively by his battalion, then by the Russian forces. He communicated valuable information to the Ukrainian gunners.

L’envelope given secretly contains a laconic mission order: the name of a district of Kherson, more precisely a block of houses. Nothing more. Vadim – a nom de guerre – would not have paid attention to it if he had not previously received a code, in the form of a password, and a protocol. Vadim had to discreetly immerse himself in the district of Kherson which had been designated for him to note the comings and goings of its inhabitants, the access points, the alleys and the interior courtyards. He recorded, from memory only, the checkpoints set up by the occupants, their habits and their observation posts. He reported all his sightings to an officer he will never meet. Vadim’s clandestine network includes partisans and saboteurs…
