During a week of festivities, the 2024 edition of Séries Mania allowed festival-goers to discover series from all over the world, attend preview screenings, meet talents in masterclasses and participate in new activities and other evenings throughout the city of Lille.
A record edition for Séries Mania
Even those who were unable to attend were able to follow the festival remotely thanks to the platform SeriesMania+. Among the big events, there was the preview screening of the first two episodes of the series The 3-Body Problem, by David Benioff and DB Weiss (Game of Thrones), now available on Netflix, but also the masterclasses of Audrey Fleurot (HPI), Kelly Rutherford (Gossip Girl), Patricia Arquette (Medium) and Laurent Lafitte (Tapie).
Festival-goers were also able to discover the Great Immersive Exhibition “Behind the scenes” on the hidden professions of the series or go to the Fan Clubs to meet the teams from Plus belle la vie, encore plus belle, L’art du crime and Escort Boys.
This new edition of the Séries Mania Festival was a great success with a new attendance record. There were many series fans this year and the festival welcomed more than 98,000 spectators, a 15% increase compared to last year!

The winners of Séries Mania 2024
This 2024 edition of Séries Mania ended on March 22 with its closing ceremony, during which the various juries awarded the 16 festival prizes. The international competition jury was chaired by Zal Batmanglij (The OA, Murder at the End of the World) and composed of director Charlotte Brandström (The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power), Sofiane Zermani, Bérénice Béjo and the actor German Malick Bauer (Sam: a Saxon).
While the jury for the international panorama was chaired by the writer Douglas Kennedy and will include among its ranks the actress Suzy Bemba (The Opera), the producer Danna Stern, the South Korean producer Hojin Kwon and the showrunner Clémence Madeleine-Perdrillat (Drops of God).
And the big winning series is none other than Rematch, a Franco-Hungarian fiction which looks back on the return match between chess champion Garry Kasparov and Deep Blue, the IBM supercomputer, in a thrilling Man vs. Machine fight in the years 1990. The first episode of the winning series was screened after the ceremony to close the edition.
