The Silent Hill license returns with various projects

For some time now, many rumors have been circulating regarding a possible reboot or remake of the saga. But finally, silent Hill is making a comeback with several simultaneous projects. Series, film or even video game, Konami will have put the means to satisfy the fans and restart the machine. In total, 5 distinct projects are emerging, none managed by an internal team of the firm.

Remake and experiences for silent Hill

The first project presented during the Silent Hill Transmission is long overdue: Silent Hill 2 Remake. Developed by Bloober Team (Layers of Fears, The Medium), it should be a version with updated gameplay and look, but with an identical atmosphere to the original. The game is planned for PC and PS5, probably for the year 2023.

On the other hand, two more games are currently in development. Silent Hill fdeveloped by NeoBards Entertainment (Resist Evil: Resistance), takes players to Japan in the 60s. A title far from what the series has been able to offer so far, and which should explore Japanese horrific folklore. Everything is produced Motoi Okamoto (New Super Mario Bros., Pikmin)while we can find Ryukishi07 (When Thy Cry) to the scenario.

Finally, it is on the side of Annapurna Interactive and NoCode Studio that you have to turn for Silent Hill Townfall, a title still very mysterious. The objective would be to respect the atmosphere of the series, while offering a unique experience. And for the occasion, it looks like a little time travel is in order, with a return to the 90s, early 2000.

The return of Christophe Gans to the heart of the fog

But the license silent Hill it’s not just video games, and among the projects are Return to Silent Hill, the second opus directed by Frenchman Christophe Gans. 16 years later, it is the second game that inspires this film whose horror is intended above all to be psychological. No release date has yet been announced, but Gans doesn’t seem ready to let go of the license any time soon. In parallel, an interactive and community series named Silent Hill Climb should emerge.
