The Sims 4: August 30 Update, All the Details – The Sims 4

The game The Sims 4 just welcomed a new update, which was deployed on August 30. This is patch 1.91.186.1030 on PC (1.91.186.1230 on Mac) and version 1.63 on consoles. This brings some new features, but is essentially corrective.

Indeed, thanks to this latest update, players can now discover new scenarios : “New in town” with Farrah Nouvel, “In his shadow” highlighting Nova Larouche and Lewis Sancho and “Parents in difficulty” on the theme of the family.

The various fixes and changes brought by this update are indicated in the patch notes, complete and in French, available below.

• PlantSims can now move items from their inventory without issues.
• Camera movements on macOS are more responsive, especially for those using Monterey.
• Some cases of incorrect pronouns have been fixed.
• We have clarified some scenario objectives.
• The text for scenarios with existing fireplaces is also more specific.
• Time-limited scenarios again indicate that they are time-limited, and end at the correct time.
• Scenario information pop-ups now include a link to lessons so you can learn more about them.
• The lessons for the scenarios have new images.
• Scenarios do not end immediately when you start a second scenario in the same saved game.
• Event and Scenario details panels are no longer blank when double-clicking their button for information.
• We’ve made some small interface improvements for scenarios. For example, when you select an existing household for a scenario, the button to configure neighborhood stories no longer appears.
• In the My Households tab, Households with active Scenarios no longer have a “purple heart” icon when Neighborhood Stories are inactive.
• A storyboard bubble no longer overlaps the sidebar for some resolutions.
• The “Conflict between fiancés” scenario no longer repeats the “All well thought out” objective.
• The “Perfect Balance” scenario has the objective “Reach level 3 of a skill” which can now be completed.
• Color swatches for back hair now appear in standard order.
• Images for “Things You Might Like” in the main menu now display the correct ratios for all game resolutions.

At work

• No more nonsense at work: doctors no longer do a T-pose when performing surgery.
• Alien toddler legs now remain visible when applying outfits in Create a Sim.

High school years

• Sims who graduate and arrive late to the event now don their graduation gowns, and all graduates keep their gowns on during graduation. It’s a very important moment, so choose an appropriate outfit!
• Sims who graduate early now receive their diploma and aren’t mistakenly told they’re dropping out of high school.
• The hours of detention were a little painful. Sims no longer revise indefinitely for their exams while on detention.
• Sims with a low Fitness skill are more successful at throwing the ball.
• The squad training popup no longer mentions a crush that does not exist.
• Development Plans items in inventory can now be discarded if you want to free up inventory space. If you love to accumulate miscellaneous objects, do not hesitate to keep them.
• The Friendly Bunny contact button is now always visible to Sims who have friends.
• Some beards went directly from “three-day beard” length to “full beard” length. They now grow more gradually.
• Beard ymFacialHair_EF11BeardShortStubble can now be shaved close. The razors have been set to catch that short stubble.
• Pants ymBottom_EP12PantsSkinnyCalf Now only displays once in Create A Sim.
• Sunlight in Copperdale is less intense. A 6 degree change in the angle of the sun makes a big difference!
• Having a pillow fight with Sims you don’t know is no longer considered acceptable. At least say hello to them first!
• The shadow of the Single Hammock now correctly appears under this seat.
• High School Years now only appears once in the Packs section of the main menu.
• Missing images for items on the High School Years pack page have been found. They now appear correctly.
• Sims correctly give prom invites to the Sim they want to invite, not the currently player-controlled Sim.
• Phone usage by Sims has been reduced. However, teenagers continue to use the phone more often.

• We’ve made pronoun bug fixes thanks to community reports!

Interior decoration

• Sims can now add coins for add coin contracts.

Spring cleaning

• “Spring Cleaning” visual effects no longer appear when the dust system is disabled.
