The expansion Marriage of The Sims 4 will not revolutionize the experience, but it will make it possible to celebrate unions with more splendor than ever by living new adventures in a new neighborhood. After all, The Sims 4 is available in Russia and already brings people of the same sex together. Disappointed thatElectronic Arts bows to Russian constraints, the community rose up with a petition that brought together more than 10,000 signatures at this time.
After maybe a little legal research to cover up, Maxis and EA have decided to change their position: finally, no problem, Marriage will also be released in Russia, without modification of its content. On the other hand, to offer the extension to everyone at the same time and not to penalize the players of the country, the launch scheduled for February 17 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One has been postponed to February 23.

Last week we shared the below update regarding our upcoming Wedding game pack. At that time, we thought that our team could not freely tell the story of gay couple Cam and Dom in Russia. So we decided not to release this pack, as it was the best way for us to fulfill our commitment to tell their story.
Since then, we’ve listened to the outpouring of emotions and feedback from our community, including support for our decision and concern for other community members. It is just as important for us to stand up for our values, including the fight against homophobia, as it is to share stories like this with those who want and need them most.
With that in mind, we reassessed our options and realized we could do more than we initially thought. So we are going to make The Sims 4 Wedding game pack available for our community in Russia, unmodified and unchanged, with Dom and Cam.
We want the entire Sims community to celebrate the release of the Wedding Pack together, so we’re pushing its worldwide release to February 23rd – including Russia.
Love is love, and the Sims community will continue to be a safe place for those who want to see a world true to their own. We thank you for supporting our team and our values, even when it is difficult. Thank you for being part of The Sims.
