The Sims 4: July 26 Update, All the Details – The Sims 4

The game The Sims 4 just welcomed a new free update. It’s about patch 1.90.358.1030 on PC (1.90.358.1230 on Mac) and version 1.61 on consoles. This brings changes, but also various fixes.

In addition, this patch brings new options, regarding body hair, in the Body section of Create a Sim. Consoles

• On some PlayStation®4 systems, the Evergreen Harbor world of Ecology had a lot of blinking objects in the environment. We think we have solved the problem. If you encounter it again, please let us know with the PlayStation model and OS version.
• On Xbox, interacting with the Chicken Coop in Country Living no longer causes the cursor to disappear.
• Closing the notebook interface now also hides its caption for the controller.

The Sims 4

• Sims can again shift to an open space of the bed which is placed against the wall.
• Sims correctly give food to toddlers with the “Take Serving For” interaction.
• Are you organizing a birthday party for a toddler? Sims can now “Compliment the Birthday Sim” to end the party if this objective appears.
• Did you know that your Sims can take care of a need themselves if you click on the need in the Needs panel? Try and you will see! Sims with the Tidy Trait can now wash themselves when clicking “Hygiene” instead of cleaning their house.
• The VAULT modular worktop retains its color under dirt when it gets dirty.
• Sims run again when using the Exercise Control Playmat and the PrioPerfection Motion Sensor Playmat.
• The “Save” and “Delete” buttons now both appear when you move the mouse cursor over a save slot on the “Save Game” screen.
• Sims can inquire about the following preferences without having set their own preferences in these areas: Decor, Color, Hobbies & Skills, and Music.
• Since Sims in the same household already know each other, they no longer have the option of inquiring about their various preferences among themselves. “Inquire about career” is the only exception.
• When chatting with another Sim, questions related to preferences are now grouped into a Like/Dislike category.
• Your Sims went on vacation with another household. You just learned through a neighborhood story notification that this home has adopted a child! This notification now includes the name of the world where this household lives rather than the name of the vacation world.
• Placing a lot from the Gallery defaults to its lot type instead of asking to switch to the place’s lot type.
• When you have a window that lines up with the dotted mark of the half box, and the window is as wide as its footprint, you can now place another window of that type right next to it.
• Placing a curved platform in another room now fills the floor tile surrounding the curve.
• Place a swarm of dragonflies and mosquitoes on ponds now spawns dragonflies and mosquitoes, respectively. Bzzzzzzz bzzz…
• Cars seen from afar on low-end computers can now look more like cars and less like a beginner woodworker’s project.
• That screen that appears when you choose which Sim will do something with the active Sim…we’ve adjusted the header so that too long text doesn’t overlap your Sim’s portrait.
• Now, this screen also always displays the “Everyone” category when it appears.
• Background pregnancy tracking has been tweaked to improve performance and stability.
• We fixed three types of crashes:
  • [PS4 uniquement] One that sometimes appeared on PS4 when saving a lot to My Library.
  • Another that was related to graphics.
  • And the most annoying thing that sometimes happened when placing a Shop lot that had mannequins. Bye bye, crashes!
• When you hover over the requirements for a promotion in the career panel, a handy tip appears.

Dogs and cats

• These curtains can now be placed around windows: Casual Rustic Curtains, Warm Rustic Curtains, and Charming Rustic Curtains.

Seasons

• Gnomes placed from inventory no longer continue to spawn seed packets after the Harvest Festival ends.

paradise islands

• Kids progress toward earning their Wilderness Adventures badge when they catch fish or frogs.

In college

• After changing specialization branches in a career, your Sim now earns the well-deserved rewards of that new career.
• The button for “Go to class early” now appears one hour before the start of classes at the university.
• When asked, Sims go to college class early if they are on their campus.

Ecology

• What do you mean, you don’t want to see books among the ingredients available for the Buttery Station? Okay. Loading ingredients now only displays real edible ingredients.
• Idle animations for enjoying a fizzy drink while seated at a table now work correctly.
• Sims can get rid of the “Colored by an Explosion!” moodlet. by taking a good shower or a good bath.

Snowy getaway

• Sims in the Dedicated Employee career can now complete the “Hold a Conference Call” task consistently.
• Drink the Potion Bye bye lifestyle now actually removes lifestyles. Get started and discover your new you!
• Sims now correctly get up to three active lifestyles.
• Mountaineering excursions now start instead of canceling automatically. Let’s conquer these mountains together!

country life

• Specific chicken coop variants retain the same color when they become dirty.
• Poultry no longer prevent the Egg Hunt holiday tradition from working. Rumor has it that they collected all the decorative eggs for themselves.
• Verdant Mushroom Soup now appears correctly when choosing it from the list of recipes to cook with other Sims and when taking portions of it.
• Color samples for long hair with bandana (ymHair_EP11LongBandana) now match hair color.

being parents

• Taking out anger on stuffed animals now lowers the Teen Sim’s empathy. Badness has consequences!

strangerville

• Error code 106:7f97032:aa761f01 no longer occasionally occurs when going to the Secret Lab in StrangerVille.

Journey to Batuu

• The “Hot Tip” mission for Rascals now properly requires collecting five Information Fragments.

Interior decoration

• The yfBottom_GP10Capri_Solid cropped pants now appear in the appropriate brown color when you select the brown color swatch.

werewolves

• Werewolf and Vampire Sims now exit through the correct tunnel entrances after choosing to “Explore Underground Tunnels”.

Tiny houses

• The remote control for Murphy beds now has the correct texture.
