As The Sims 4 continues to expand its content, a new competitor is preparing to emerge from the shadows. And the least we can say is that it looks promising.
Despite its age, The Sims 4 continues to live on thanks to the addition of DLC, among other things. Today, it has existed for almost ten years, and it is not ready to give up. Generally speaking, the franchise is enjoying popularity that is not going to decline anytime soon. On the other hand, competitors appear from time to time, ready to face the Maxis juggernaut. There is just one that has just resurfaced, and it might pique your curiosity. Plus, he made a great announcement.
The Sims 4 faces a new competitor
The “new” adversary to enter the scene is Paralives, first revealed a few years ago. A game that will potentially be ideal for waiting until the release of Project Rene (or The Sims 5). Alex Massé started working on this title alone, before managing to expand into a studio. And we can say that he and his team have not been idle over the last twelve months, as they recently revealed. It’s simple, they managed to create more than 800 new objects for their creation. We can say that things were not done by halves.
While our programmers focused on features, gameplay, our artists added hundreds of new items for the game.
Since we are facing a life simulation game, the objects in question range from decorations for the garden to furniture of all kinds for the home, in short, the classic move. In any case, it won’t disorient Sims fans. For now, we have only been able to get a glimpse of these items. So there’s no new trailer to get your teeth into, but it’s nice to see that development is progressing like clockwork. At least, that’s the impression it gives.
That said, you shouldn’t hope to get a release date yet. For the moment, the plan is to continue work on Paralives, but that does not mean that the studio is not thinking about deploying the game. In this case, it plans to launch it in early access on Steam. We won’t know more, but we will closely monitor how it presents itself. In the meantime, know that a new extension will be integrated into The Sims 4. It is called “Be sensational”, and it will offer a kit with different elements to shine in society.
