The future 13th generation of processors Intel therefore seems to have to straddle two architectures.

In all likelihood, Intel will most officially present its new Raptor Lake processors during the Intel Innovation event on September 27-28.

Doubling effective cores

Prior to this presentation, various slides were made public. Most of the information thus disseminated has above all confirmed the numerous rumours.

However, a few particularly trained eyes have spotted a slightly more disturbing element. An element that concerns the entry-level chips of the new Raptor Lake line.

Indeed, while the top of the range will benefit in particular from a doubled number of effective cores, the question arises of such a novelty for entry-level processors… which do not have any anyway.

Recycling of dies Alder Lake?

Intel’s answer could not be simpler: processors since and under the Core i5-13600 (non-K) would simply be based on die Alder Lake, therefore 12th generation.

The information confirms what several rumors had already evoked: the presence of three dies at the launch of Raptor Lake. The B-0 is a real Raptor Lake while the C-0/H-1 ​​are “recycled” Alder Lakes.

We should therefore not expect major innovations for these entry/mid-range chips, but Intel still has the means to operate a shift in its references in order to offer more powerful CPUs at a better price. , equipped with efficient cores in particular.
