Smart has released the first photos of the Brabus #1, the sporty version of its all-electric city SUV. The model will debut on August 26, 2022 at the Chengdu Motor Show in China.
After recent teasers posted on social media, Smart has finally unveiled the first photos of the Brabus #1, the edgy version of the manufacturer’s all-electric urban SUV, 50% owned by Chinese Geely.
The model will make its public debut on August 26, 2022 at the Chengdu Motor Show in China, where Smart is expected to announce detailed specifications.
In the meantime, we see that the Brabus #1 is equipped with specific front and rear bumpers, air intakes on the bonnet and a roof spoiler which reinforce the overall dynamism of the silhouette. The mirror caps and the roof are painted red, an evocative color that will undoubtedly remind some of the GTI era. Other additions include two-tone 19-inch alloy wheels and tinted windows.
Inside, in addition to the 9.2-inch digital instrumentation and 12.3-inch central screen, there is the Brabus badge on the steering wheel and headrests, with red stitching, ambient lighting from the same color and aluminum inserts on the dashboard and the pedals. The seats appear upholstered in leather and microfiber suede with stitching and always-red seat belts.
The manufacturer remains discreet for the moment on the technical specificities of its future sports SUV. If the Smart #1 is equipped with a 272 hp synchronous motor powered by a 66 kWh battery (440 km of autonomy announced), the Brabus version should, according to CarsnewsChina, be equipped with two engines developing a total of 428 hp. The battery capacity would however remain the same.
The prices have not yet been revealed, but we expect a price of around €45,000 for the simple classic version. The Brabus version should logically be displayed at a higher price.
