The Son: Action

New York attorney Peter lives an enviable life with his beautiful partner Beth and their newborn child. However, his life changes abruptly when his ex-wife shows up at the door and expresses her concerns about their 17-year-old son Nicholas. He’s been skipping school for a while, feels like a different person and doesn’t want to live with his mother anymore, so he moves in with Peter without further ado.

Determined to help his son, Peter will do whatever it takes to get Nicholas back on track. Despite jeopardizing his new partnership, he and his ex-wife Kate want to work together to provide their son with the help he needs.

The Son: cast

‘X-Men’ and ‘Les Misérables’ actor Hugh Jackman takes on the lead role of lawyer and doting father Peter. Also starring are Laura Dern (“Big Little Lies”) as Peter’s ex-wife Kate, Vanessa Kirby (“The Crown”) as Peter’s new partner Beth, and Zen McGrath as Peter and Kate’s son Nicholas.

Also in front of the camera for the film were two-time Oscar winner and “Westworld” actor Anthony Hopkins (best known for his role as Hannibal Lecter) and Hugh Quarshie (“Absentia”).

The Netzwelt forecast for “The Son”

The British-French family drama “The Son”, starring Hugh Jackman, shows how challenging life as a father and husband can be. Hopefully there’s a good balance between drama and reality.
