The splendor of the night – Styrian photographer takes the stars from the sky

There is no doubt that it is an overwhelming feeling to stand on a mountain at night and see the valley below. But it must be even more exciting to watch the stars. Michael Kleinburger did it, who spent a year capturing the center of the Milky Way from the Gesäuse National Park with his camera. The Styrian photographer specializes in astronomical photos like these and is regularly out and about in the dark. But that’s not as easy as it sounds. When Kleinburger takes his photos, what he needs most is time. Lots of time. It took more than a hundred hours to create recordings for his 4-minute video “Noctis Austria”, which he published online and has already been viewed 300,000 times.
