The sports day: Because of ghost games: Eintracht fans donate 500,000 euros

Eintracht Frankfurt fans have not been allowed into the stadium for months. Numerous facilities benefit from this.

Football Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt donated half a million euros to five charities from the main metropolis. The money comes from the ticket proceeds, which were not reclaimed by the fans despite the ghost games in the Corona crisis. "It is a great sign for Frankfurt that everyone who could put their trust in us and voluntarily passed on the money they were entitled to through us," said Eintracht sports director Fredi Bobic about the fundraiser. The ark received 150,000 euros, the German Red Cross 70,000 euros, Diakonie Hessen 80,000 euros, university clinic 80,000 euros and Frankfurter Tafel 120,000 euros.
