The sports day: Ex-Barca star should be Koeman's successor

Ex-professional Frank de Boer is apparently supposed to take over the Dutch national football team's successor to the bond coach Ronald Koeman who has moved to FC Barcelona. Director Eric Gudde from the national association KNVB has already confirmed negotiations with the 50-year-old on the details of the intended contract on the TV broadcaster NOS.

According to Gudde, in addition to the former national player de Boer, the KNVB also asked Peter Bosz from Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen and former European champion Frank Rijkaard, who was already national coach. However, neither would have been interested in the task at Elftal.

The KNVB wants to regulate the Koeman successor before the international matches in October. At the beginning of the month, Koeman's former assistant Dwight Lodeweges sat on the Oranje bench.
