The sports day: HSV idol Seeler is back at home after hip surgery

What nice news: football idol Uwe Seeler is back home 28 days after a hip operation. He recovered well "and was released from the clinic today," said the Immanuel Albertinen Diakonie.

• On May 21, the 83-year-old Seeler suffered a broken neck at a fall in his home in Norderstedt near Hamburg and was operated on the following day at the Albertinen Hospital in Hamburg-Schnelsen.
• An artificial hip joint was used for the honorary captain of the German national team. "One of the advantages of an artificial joint is that it can be loaded immediately," said Marietta Jansen, chief physician of trauma surgery at the Albertinen Hospital.
• She comments positively on the course: "I am very satisfied with the daily progress that Mr. Seeler has made since then." After the discharge from the hospital, further physiotherapy measures should follow, the message says.
