During its Tudum 2023 event, Netflix wanted to remind us of the upcoming arrival of a reality TV adaptation of the most successful series in its historyand it’s called Squid Game: The Challenge.
An exit window has been unveiled, but to get more than just a handful of images, you’ll have to be patient.
Squid Game: The Challenge arrives end of 2023
It is therefore next November that Netflix will offer Squid Game: The Challenge. Unveiled last year, this reality series will more or less bring into reality the concept of the game at the heart of the hit Korean series released at the end of 2021.
No question of killing the losing candidates of course, but it will be men and women competing in tests quite similar to those used in the show. In particular, we can recognize the 1, 2, 3 sun, but also different sets and costumes from the series. A few months ago, difficult and dangerous conditions on the set were nevertheless reported… This game should therefore not be put in front of everyone’s eyes.
Some news from season 2
While waiting for this version, Netflix also had a little something to give fans about season 2 of Squid Game. This should certainly not happen immediately (many Korean series should be released before), but we now know which characters will be back and who will be the new main faces in the cast.
Thus, actors Lee Jung-jae (the hero of the first season, Seong Gi-hun), Lee Byung-hun (the Front Man), Wi Ha-jun (Hwang Jun-ho) and Gong Yoo (the recruiter) will resume their respective roles. As for the “new players”, Yim Si-wan (notably rewarded for Byeon-ho-in), Kang Ha-neul (notably rewarded for Dongbaekkkot Pil Muryeop), Park Sung-hoon and Yang Dong-geun will be there. Note the total absence of women in this ad.
