Jean-Pierre Caillot is convinced, “the Stade de Reims will return to Europe”. At the microphone of Legends Studio in Europe 1 Sport, the president of Reims did not hide his ambitions. At the head of the club since 2004, the businessman was able to straighten out a club in distress which was then playing in National.

But the determination of the one also known by the nickname “Passionate” has put one of the most emblematic football clubs in France back on the right track.

Unconditional love for Stade de Reims

And to succeed in this challenge, Jean-Pierre Caillot has “not counted his hours”. This passion for the club, he explains it in his autobiographical book It’s not just football, my twenty years at the head of the Stade de Reims.

Co-written with Julien Lampin and Maxime Masson, the book evokes the backstage of the Stade de Reims and the life of the principal concerned, the one who qualifies as “a passionate president”.

The President of Reims retraces his career through three major themes: “The enthusiast”, “The builder” and “The ambitious”. Football is omnipresent in this biography, but Jean-Pierre Caillot also talks about his childhood, his family and his student dreams in a very personal way.

Keeping the club in Ligue 1

This passion for the club has therefore enabled him to turn around this historic club, whose first title dates back to 1949.

“For a city like Reims, demographically, economically, having a club in Ligue 1 is a great opportunity. It must be perpetuated in the first division”, Jean-Pierre Caillot set himself the objective at the microphone ofEurope 1 Sport.

With an education and training center that is part of the Top 5 in France, the Stade de Reims intends to compete with the big clubs in France. This is also the tenth consecutive year that the club has won money, “it’s remarkable in this environment”, welcomed the president of Reims.

And “sustaining yourself means not lacking ambition”, warns “L’ambitieux”. Jean-Pierre Caillot’s objective will ultimately be to become competitive again on the European scene.
