The stamp will cost more, good and bad news for the Livret A… The 3 money news of the day

What future for the 700,000 customers of Ma French Bank, the budget point for January 2024 and the future of the Livret A… Find the three money news for this Friday, December 22.

1 – Everything that changes for your budget in January 2024

The transition from 2023 to 2024 is fast approaching. Like every month, MoneyVox has compiled these changes which will have an impact – or not – on your wallet. An example? One year after the disappearance of the red stamp, the price of the green stamp will increase in 2024. From January 1, it will cost 1.24 euros, instead of 1.16 euros, for sending by standard green letter in 3 days in mainland France, an increase of 11%. Another? Taxes on cigarettes, which represent 80% of their selling price, will increase by 4.5% and lead to an average increase of 43 cents for a pack. For the rest, this is where it happens.

2 – What future for Ma French Bank customers?

La Banque Postale is studying the possibility of closing Ma French Bank, its mobile banking subsidiary, created in 2019. Nearly 700,000 customers risk having to find a plan B (within a year or a year and a half) even if La Banque Postale promises that in the event of closure, it undertakes to offer all customers (…) the possibility of opening an account within it (…). Here are 3 options available to them.

3 – Livret A rate: good news and bad news in 2024

In the month of November, outstanding Livret A and LDDS remained stable while the Popular Savings Booklets (LEP) grew by 2.8 billion euros, stimulated by the 6% rate and the raising of the ceiling last month.

Next February, the Livret A rate could have increased to 4%. The executive decided otherwise, by blocking it at 3%. But there is still good news coming for 2024. MoneyVox predicts the future of the French’s favorite savings account for the year 2024.
