Is there a curse on the RTL program "Das Sommerhaus der Stars"? Some couples broke up after filming.
On September 9th (8:15 pm) the fifth season of the RTL program "Das Sommerhaus der Stars – Kampf der Promipaare" (can also be seen on TVNow). Eight new couples move into a modest house in Bocholt and fight for the title "The Celebrity Couple 2020". But be careful, there seems to be a separation curse on the RTL show. Some celebrity couples from previous seasons went their separate ways after filming.
Angelina Heger and Rocco Stark
Ex- "Bachelor" candidate Angelina Heger (28), now Angelina Pannek, and actor Rocco Stark (34) separated before the first "Sommerhaus" episode flickered across the screens. The two came together in January 2016, five months later it was all over again. "It's very difficult for me to communicate that today, but unfortunately we have finally split up," said Stark at the time via Facebook. "Rocco and I have decided to go our separate ways with immediate effect," confirmed Heger. In the first season of "Das Sommerhaus der Stars" they took last place.
Xenia Princess of Saxony and Rajab Hassan
Xenia Princess of Saxony (34) and Rajab Hassan won the first "Sommerhaus" season, but their love did not last. The couple split around six months after their victory. "Yes, we broke up. But we will remain friends and colleagues," said the 34-year-old. Their relationship lasted about seven years, and the two have a son.
Chris Töpperwien and Magey Kalley
The marriage of Chris Töpperwien (46) and Magdalèna "Magey" Kalley lasted two years after their participation in the RTL show. They took third place in the first season. The currywurst man had met the musical actress in the USA, the wedding followed in 2014. The ex-couple was also regularly seen in the emigrant program "Goodbye Germany". In September 2018, they finally announced the end of the marriage.
Helena Fürst and Ennesto Monté
A fast-moving relationship or is it all fake? The relationship between ex-jungle star Helena Fürst (46) and singer Ennesto Monté (45), which lasted only a few months, made plenty of headlines. Even before the second "Sommerhaus" season was broadcast, they officially announced their separation. After all, the couple made it to second place.
Nico Schwanz and Saskia Atzerodt
First place went to model Nico Schwanz (42) and ex- "Bachelor" candidate Saskia Atzerodt (28) in the second season. The two even got engaged right after their triumph. But instead of wedding bells there were accusations. The separation followed only a short time later. "The love of the two was put to a severe test in the house and then extinguished," said a management statement. Their love lasted just a year.
Martin and Sonja Semmelrogge
Acting star Martin Semmelrogge (64) and his wife Sonja were married for almost 20 years when they took part in the second season in 2017. Shortly after the show, the couple, who have a daughter, separated. The two took last place. Then in August 2018 the shock: Sonja Semmelrogge dies at the age of only 54.
Aurelio Savina and Lisa Freidinger
They had big plans: Ex- "Bachelorette" candidate Aurelio Savina (42) and Lisa Freidinger. After her sixth place in the second season, she got engaged and entered the catering industry. But her Munich restaurant "Comera" had to close for financial reasons. In June 2018, the two finally made their separation public.
Bert Wollersheim and Bobby Anne Baker
In the third season of 2018, viewers quickly realized that this love cannot last: Bert Wollersheim (69) and Bobby Anne Baker already had a lot of bad mood in the "Summer House of the Stars". The two had only met a few months before the show. "The short time we had was harmonious, but it wasn't so harmonious in the summer house. There was also a verbal talk about life," explained Wollersheim after moving out. The two were the first couple to leave the "summer house".
Micaela Schäfer and Felix Steiner
Even between Micaela Schäfer (36) and Felix Steiner, the tatters often flew in the show. A short time later they went their separate ways. "We broke up right after the 'summer house'", explained the erotic model. The reason are their different views and behavior in public. The two have been a couple since December 2015. In the "summer house" they took fifth place.
Patricia Blanco and Nico Gollnick
There was no happy ending for Patricia Blanco (49) and Nico Gollnick. The daughter of the singer Roberto Blanco (83) was only in a relationship with the entrepreneur for several months. "So, my dear ones, I would like to inform you that Nico and I will go our separate ways from now on," said the 49-year-old to her fans. Unfortunately, it turned out in the end that "we don't complement each other as well as we initially hoped," said Blanco, trying to explain the reasons for the separation. The two met and fell in love in a Berlin champagne bar at the end of 2017 and in 2018 they dared the great adventure "Summer House of the Stars". They finished fourth on the RTL show.
Benjamin Boyce and Kate Merlan
Benjamin Boyce (52) and Kate Merlan (33) said even before the fifth episode of season four was broadcast that they broke up two months after filming ended. "We have completely different visions of how a relationship should work," said Benjamin Boyce in an RTL interview. Kate Merlan said something similar: "I think we were just too different". In the "Summer House of the Stars" she had repeatedly had the impression that the relationship no longer made sense. The singer and the model have been in a relationship since summer 2018. In the "Summer House" 2019 they reached sixth place.
Johannes Haller and Yeliz Koc
At the end of December 2019, the separation of "Bachelorette" participant Johannes Haller (32) and "Bachelor" candidate Yeliz Koc (26) became known. In March 2020, they gave their relationship a new chance. At the beginning of May 2020 the couple separated again. "I know that this time it's really over," Koc said at the time. For the ex-couple it was enough for fifth place in the "Summer House of the Stars".
Willi Herren and Jasmin Herren
Haller's "Sommerhaus" arch enemy Willi Herren (45) also had a relationship crisis after the show. In December 2019, he and his wife Jasmin (41) announced the separation after 17 years together. The big love comeback followed in February 2020: "We can tell you with joy and love: Jasmin & Willi are back," wrote the party singer about a picture shared with his wife on Instagram. In the "Summer House of the Stars" they took fourth place.
