The system of psychology sessions covered by Health Insurance, provided for by the Social Security financing bill for 2022, is becoming clearer. Indeed, a decree published in the Official Journal this Thursday, March 24 provides that Health Insurance reimburses 60% of these eight sessions. The rest will be covered by complementary health insurance.
From April, the “My shrink” platform will allow people who wish to do so to have access to a directory of voluntary practitioners to offer a package of eight sessions at a capped price and if possible without any additional costs for the patient. Provided for in the Social Security financing bill for 2022 and announced by Emmanuel Macron, this system was the subject of a decree published in the Official newspaper this Thursday, March 24, 2022, reports Capital.
60% coverage by health insurance
Concretely, this decree has lifted the veil on the rest payable by patients for these eight sessions. It has been set at 40%, which means that Health Insurance will cover 60% of the total amount. On the first session, known as a check-up, the patient will have to pay a remainder of 16 eurosthen 12 euros on the following ones.
In total, the entire remaining charge will be 100 euros for the patient if he performs all the sessions provided for in the device.

If the patient is one of the 95% of people with complementary health insurance, this remainder will be reduced to 0. At the same time, so-called precarious patients who benefit from supplementary solidarity health or state medical aid (AME) will also see this out-of-pocket reimbursed. The number of people who will have to pay money out of pocket to carry out these sessions should therefore logically be very low.
