Sometimes renting out your apartment can lead to terrible consequences. Cécilia, the owner of a property in the city of Boulogne-Billancourt, located in the Paris region, can testify to this. The latter has been fighting for six long years for the couple who lives inside her accommodation to pay her rent. It all started in 2016, when this young woman decided to put her 35 square meter studio on the rental market. Thinking of earning a little extra salary, she didn’t know what quagmire she was getting herself into.

However, everything started in the best way. Convinced of having found the perfect tenants, she testified at the time: “I decided to trust: he was an entrepreneur, she a journalist. In addition, there were works to be done, if I had known… I feel stupid today”. Because six years later, she finds herself in a dead end and with a debt of 45,000 euros. It must be said that from the start, his tenant couple did not even give him a deposit check. Since then, no rent has been paid.

“I could have taken it upon myself if it was really people in need. There, I have the impression of being taken for a turkey when I see the lifestyle that my tenants lead. She even owns a chalet in the Vosges with her mother!“, Cécilia got angry in the columns of France Live. It must be said that after having delved a little into the lives of her tenants, Cécilia was not at the end of her surprises. On their social media, the latter lead a life of luxury, very different from the classic squatters.

“They don’t have the profile of the usual squatters, they gravitate around the fashion world and know how to take advantage of everything, exploit the loopholes. They are professional squatters”, plague Cécilia, who notices that her tenants spend their time in four-star hotels around the world, in addition to showing off with luxury bags. While an eviction order has been issued against the couple, the latter has still not left the premises. Hell continues for Cécilia, who doesn’t even know in what state she will find her apartment.
