The succession of Stéphane Richard is becoming clearer. Orange CEO set to step down “in the next weeks”. Sentenced on appeal on November 24 in the context of the Tapie trial, he will leave the reins of Orange to a duo: a president and a general manager. Or more likely to a general manager: Christel Heydemann. The current vice-president Europe of Schneider Electric would have the favors of the Élysée and Bercy. The Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire, favors the appointment of a woman to this post. She would therefore be preferred to Ramon Fernandez, deputy general manager of Orange, and Franck Boulben, head of the consumer division of Verizon.
