The summer holidays will not be "normal", announces Jean Castex

The health situation in France seems to be stagnating. While the 6 p.m. curfew and local confinement are controversial, Jean Castex has spoken on Twitch. According to him, the summer vacation will not be "normal".

While the whole of France is asking more and more questions about the future: are we heading towards (re) reconfinement? Prime Minister Jean Castex gave details this weekend on what awaits us in the coming months. In recent weeks, some ministers and other political figures have been trying a new technique to reach the youngest: expressing themselves on the Twitch platform.

As the anniversary of the first French confinement approached, it was Jean Castex who carried out the exercise at Samuel Etienne's microphone, as reported by RMC Découverte. The Prime Minister spoke of the likely face of the French summer vacation.

The Île-de-France confined?

In recent weeks, rumors have circulated around a possible confinement of Île-de-France over the weekend. While some cities like Dunkirk, Nice and Calais have already adopted this strategy, the French government still seems to hesitate. The Prime Minister then gave some figures: as long as the incidence rate does not reach 400 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, confinement in Île-de-France is not to be expected. Today we are at 391 cases.

While resuscitation beds are scarce and the medical profession exhausted, more and more voices are raised for a re-containment of Ile-de-France residents.

What future for the summer vacation?

The question that all French people ask themselves: will we be able to enjoy the summer holidays normally? The answer is clear: “It won't be a completely normal vacation", Said Jean Castex before adding:"The difference, I hope, between the coming summer of 2021 and the summer of 2020 is that we will have been vaccinated! ". He clarified that only then will some of our freedom be restored.

Even if the vaccination seems to drag on a bit, it is, since March 15, possible to be vaccinated in pharmacies by appointment. The AstraZeneca vaccine will then be given to people between 50 and 74 years old.
