The summer of 2022 was to be that of serenity for summer camps, after two years disrupted by the health crisis. It was without counting on the heat wave, the return of the Covid and above all, the lack of animators.

“The first challenge, the biggest this year, is the shortage of animators. We were able to maintain all our stays without having had to reduce the number of staff, but it was a lot of work, research and moments of panic, because the stays were filling up very well, “says Cyril Gaffet, national manager of children’s holidays and teenagers at the French Union of Holiday Centers (UFCV).
