A series not appreciated enough
In The Sun Brothersthe legendary killer Charles Sun goes to Los Angeles to protect his mother, Eileen, and Bruce, his naive little brother from whom the family has always hidden his true activities, after their father, boss of a powerful triad in Taiwan, was shot.
The first season of the series, consisting of eight episodes, mixed action comedy and family drama and starred Michelle Yeoh, Justin Chien and Sam Song Li.
The series, created by Brad Falchuk (Glee, American Horror Story) and Byron Wu, spent five weeks in the Top 10 of the most viewed English-speaking series on Netflix, but did not manage to find a large enough audience to convince the platform to continue the adventures of the Sun.
As our colleagues at Deadlinethe show’s audience figures were indeed relatively mediocre by Netflix standards, with the number of weekly views below 7 million.

A cancellation that we will have to “digest”
Justin Chien, the interpreter of Charles Sun, reacted to the announcement of the cancellation of the series, declaring on Instagram that he would “take the time to digest the news” but would like to thank the fans of the series”from the bottom of my heart for their love and support of the show.”
“Thank you for accompanying us in this story into which we put all our heart”, he added. “Our collective work, our sacrifices and our grief will have been worth it thanks to your love.”
The actor also thanked Netflix “for giving a platform to our story and giving me the opportunity to play a dream role.”
“I gave my all for this series, and I will do the same in my next project, no matter what or when it is,” he concluded.
