When Nvidia releases a new series of graphics cards, the manufacturer often offers its models in several iterations. There are generally 3: Founders Editionavailable for release, improved versions Ti and the models GREAT, also more powerful than their classic variants. The last two are arriving more or less quickly, and at the moment, rumors concerning the arrival of Nvidia RTX 4000 SUPER are going well. More precisely, we expect a 4070 SUPERa 4070 Ti GREAT and a 4080 GREAT.

Note that this would be the first time that Nvidia would offer a Ti SUPER. Until now, however, reliable sources have simply said that the components are in preparation, but without giving further details. The Benchlife site explains for its part that it got its hands on quantified characteristics. They would come from information transmitted to the brand’s various partners. Often, they do not have a specific name, but when we see for example a 4070 with a different memory configurationwe can assume that it is a Ti or SUPER variant.

Nvidia 4070 and 4080 SUPER graphics cards reveal some of their likely specs

Here is what we know according to the cited source. For comparison, the figures for the current 4070 and 4080 are also given:

  • Nvidia RTX 4070 SUPER :
    • GPU (architecture) : AD103 against AD104
    • GDDR memory : 16 GB GDDR6X versus 12 GB GDDR6X
    • Memory bus : 256-bit against 192-bit
  • Nvidia RTX 4080 SUPER :
    • GPU (architecture) : AD102 against AD103
    • GDDR memory : 20 GB GDDR6X versus 16 GB GDDR6X
    • Memory bus : 320-bit against 256-bit

The improvement is quite noticeable for both models. If the characteristics of the 4080 SUPER are confirmed, Nvidia would get closer to its competitor AMD and more particularly the Radeon RX 7900 XT which also offers 20 GB of memory. The two companies would then have similar versions in their catalog in terms of memory, with 16, 20 and 24 GB graphics cards. However, this remains a rumor for the moment. We will have to wait for confirmation from Nvidia in order to be sure.
