If the prize money at the final of the Diamond League had been awarded according to the applause meter, the Swiss would have cashed in big in the Letzigrund. Olympic champions and world record holders were at the start, but it never got as loud in the stadium as when locals were presenting. For five of them it was something like a second medal celebration: they had won medals at the European Championships in Munich in August and were now being cheered on by the 25,000 people in the Letzigrund.
