VS’is the controversy of the moment. A recent Senate commission of inquiry deemed the state’s use of private consulting firms “sprawling”. According to their report, the ministries devoted 893.9 million euros to it in 2021, more than double 2018. The total amount exceeds one billion euros if we include the 44 operators invited to detail their orders in external advice. . And yet, this sample, in which are present Pôle emploi and the Caisse des dépôts, represents only 10% of the total of state operators. “Crazy dough,” reads the report of the commission of inquiry led by Communist Senator Eliane Assassi and Senator Les Républicains Arnaud Bazin.
