The Tajan house is organizing an auction for the benefit of Ukraine this Thursday in Paris


The French auction house TAJAN is mobilizing to help the Ukrainian people. Based in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, it is organizing this Thursday, April 21, from 7 p.m., “Art for Ukraine”, an unprecedented auction for the benefit of the country at war.

In total, 60 works (paintings, sculptures, design, etc.) signed by big names on the international art scene will be offered for sale. Among them, the Franco-Algerian painter Djamel Tatah, the American Sheila Hicks, or even the visual artist Annette Messager and the French painter and engraver Marc Desgrandchamps.

the funds raised donated to associations

The designer Marcel Wanders is also committed to the good cause by offering his work in crocheted rope of resin and gold “Bon Bon”, just like the Romanian painter Adrian Ghenie, the American sculptor Joel Shapir, or even Amy Sillman, known for her abstract works. Buyers will also be able to acquire the painting “The Guest room”, by Oana Farcas, and “Figure with mask”, by Adrian Ghenie.

Knowing that all the funds raised during this sale will be donated to three associations: The International Red Cross (CIRC), the United Nations Agency for Refugees (HCR), and the Medical and Charitable Aid France Ukraine (AMCFU) .

This auction is on the initiative of Rodica Seward, President of Tajan. An American citizen, the latter fled communist Romania and also experienced refugee status. Particularly affected by the fate of the populations of Ukraine, it has activated its network of artists to respond as quickly as possible to the urgency of the situation.
