Almost 9 years after the first game, Croteam and Devolver Digital are back with The Talos Principle 2, the long-awaited sequel to the philosophical puzzle game. The title is planned for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series and should be released by the end of 2023.
The Talos Principle 2 takes place in the distant future when humanity is long extinct there. Our culture survives there only through wandering humanoid robots in the remnants of human civilization. It is in this context that the game invites the player to explore a gigantic structure that is full of mystery. This quest will confront them with many existential questions about the very nature of the cosmos. But will also question them on the opposition between reason and faith, or on the fear of repeating again and again the mistakes of the past.
The game takes some mechanics from its predecessor but also brings its share of novelty, in particular thanks to the transfer of consciousness and the manipulation of gravity. The scenario promises to be complex and to offer several possible conclusions. All while evolving in environments that are always as magnificent as they are strange.
