STORY – MEPs resume consideration of the draft amending budget for 2022 on Monday.

In the Assembly, the majority continues to find its way with difficulty between the boos. After the vote at first reading on Friday in the early morning of the bill on purchasing power, the deputies worked on Saturday on the amending budget for 2022. This text completes the previous one, which dealt with the revaluation of pensions and social benefits , the ceiling on the increase in rents or even the Macron bonus… It presents the part of the measures, having a budgetary impact, taken by the executive in response to the inflationary shock.

Among its devices is the very symbolic presidential promise to abolish the audiovisual license fee. This tax relief, which will cost the state budget 3.7 billion euros, was easily validated by 170 votes to 57. “We assume to remove taxes that weigh on the French”, concluded the new Minister of Public Accounts, Gabriel Attal. Paid in the fall, the fee was set at 138 euros per year…
