The Tennessee Titans become the first NFL team to accept Bitcoin (BTC)

The Tennessee Titans accept Bitcoin as payment

The Tennessee Titans are an American football team based in Nashville, United States. They become the first NFL franchise to accept bitcoin as a means of payment.

Initially, this method of payment will only be offered only for strategic purchases via a third-party conversion service of which we do not have details at this time. For example, this will be possible for season tickets or sponsorship campaigns.

It’s kind of a test phase. But the franchise hopes to be able to expand these options with, in the future, the possibility of spending these digital assets for purchases of single tickets, in-store items or food at the stadium in particular.

This service was deployed following a partnership between the franchise, Bitcoin Magazine and the investment fund UTXO Management who were able to offer their advice.

David Bailey of UTXO Management, commented on this breakthrough:

“We are proud to partner with the Tennessee Titans as they begin their Bitcoin journey and offer fans a new way to pay. 2022 is a special year as we continue to work with professional sports teams to help educate and drive the mass adoption of Bitcoin. »

Cryptos and sports

While at the end of March, the NFL announced that its franchises would again have the possibility to accept crypto partnershipswe can hope to see more similar news arrive in the world of American football.

If it is new in the NFL, it is not for all that not the first time that BTC invites itself into American sport. Note that the Oakland Athletics baseball team and the Sacramento Kings and Dallas Mavericks basketball franchises also accept Bitcoin as payment.

If we add to this the recent partnership between Lionel Messi and the Socios.com platform, this confirms our idea that the democratization of cryptocurrencies will also go through sport.

I timidly discovered the world of blockchain at the end of 2018 during my quest for financial freedom. Initially invested moderately, it was only two years later that I took the gamble of betting everything on the movement that was taking shape then. I then dedicate 2021 to training myself better to acquire more knowledge and seriousness. As I often like to say: I still have a billion things to learn. And what I do know, I want to share with you.
