The American channel AMC has decided to take us back into the world of The Terror. The anthology series will indeed return to the small screen for a third season, five years after the broadcast of its second opus.

See you in 2025

After The Terror (season 1) and The Terror: Infamy (season 2), the anthology series will therefore be back in 2025 with The Terror: Devil in Silver. This is the adaptation of the novel of the same name by Victor LaValle, written by the latter with screenwriter Chris Cantwell (Halt and Catch Fire).

The Terror: Devil in Silver tells the story of Pepper, a working-class man who, due to his bad luck and bad temper, finds himself wrongly committed to the New Hyde Mental Hospital, an institution populated by individuals that society would prefer forget.

There, he must face hostile patients, doctors who harbor dark secrets and perhaps even the devil himself. As Pepper navigates a hellish environment where nothing is what it seems, he discovers that the only way to find freedom is to confront the entity that feeds on suffering within the walls of New Hyde. But this could prove that the worst demons live inside him.

A terror per season

Highly acclaimed, the first season of The Terrorcreated by David Kajganich and Soo Hugh, was adapted from the novel Terror by Dan Simmons. It tells the story of how, in 1845, sailors on an expedition to the Northern Passage tried to survive when they were stranded in the Arctic ice and faced the threat of a strange creature.

Less convincing, the second season of the show, developed by Alexander Woo and Max Borenstein and subtitled Infamytakes place during World War II in an internment camp where a Japanese-American community is the victim of attacks by a malevolent specter.
