Support for Apple Shortcuts is coming to Tesla’s mobile app. Through an update, the latter will become eligible for the automations offered natively by iOS and can be controlled by voice with Siri.
This new update to the Tesla app for iOS (version 17 of which is coming soon) has been rolling out for a few hours, reports Electrek. It will therefore soon allow users to access the controls of their vehicle through shortcuts ” Apple Shortcuts “. A very practical novelty, long awaited.
Apple shortcuts now managed by Tesla
” Siri Shortcuts provide a quick way to perform tasks in your apps by […] just asking Siri “reminds Apple. ” The Shortcuts app lets you create personal shortcuts with multiple steps from your favorite apps. Tesla has therefore decided to embrace this functionality, both for the control of its vehicles and for that of their air conditioning system.
As reminded Electrek, Tesla already allowed its customers to access this kind of functionality, but only on third-party services. They will now be able to enjoy it through official Apple shortcuts. Let’s hope that following this, Tesla will look into the case of drivers stuck in their cars because of the heat wave!
