Futuristic aesthetic, too much perhaps?
The Cybertruck features a futuristic design inspired by the aesthetics of films such as Blade Runner And The Spy Who Loved Me. It is constructed with a 30X cold-rolled stainless steel frame that is resistant to scratches, impacts and corrosion. The high-performance version, called the Cyberbeast, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds thanks to its three motors and all-wheel drive, developing 845 horsepower. But the beast deserves its name: the weight of the vehicle exceeds 3,100 kilos.
It is also equipped with adaptive air suspension and a “steer-by-wire” steering system with rear-wheel steering, which according to the manufacturer provides handling comparable to that of a sports car. . The Cybertruck also includes two 120V outlets and one 240V outlet, incorporating Tesla Powershare technology for two-way power transfer. Thanks to this, it is possible to charge various devices or even power a house.
Compliance issues in Europe
Produced at the Gigafactory in Austin, Texas, with the first deliveries beginning in December 2023 in North America, the Cybertruck is not yet approved for the European market. Its sharp lines and extremely rigid bodywork do not meet European safety standards, which require a minimum curvature of the bodywork that the 1.4 millimeter steel sheet used for the Cybertruck cannot achieve.
In addition, its crash test results are worrying, because its excessive rigidity prevents deformation during collisions, violently throwing passengers inside. This aspect contradicts European standards favoring deformable zones to better absorb shocks.
