Absent from sale in France for several months, the Tesla Model 3 Performance is back in France. At a competitive price, around 55,000 euros, despite upgraded equipment.
Six years after delivering the first examples of its Model 3 Performance, and only a few days after unveiling a long-range Model Y, Tesla launched a new version of the vehicle on Tuesday April 23, 2024 in France. The American manufacturer wanted to combine performance with a price that was barely increased compared to the previous car. A quick overview, the Model 3 Performance only takes 3.1 seconds to cover 0 to 100 km/h.
The Tesla Model 3 Performance, restricted but even faster than the Model Y
With a maximum power of 460 horsepower, slightly below what experts expected, and a top speed of 262 km/h, the Tesla Model 3 Performance does better than the Model Y, limited to 250 km/h. So how does the manufacturer justify this increase in performance?
Tesla has just revealed the specific features of this new Performance vintage, including 20-inch forced aluminum rims and Pirelli brand tires. Note that these rims are wider at the rear. The manufacturer explains having researched “ better dynamism and greater traction in corners, on the road and on the circuit “.
Always equipped: the Model 3 Performance features unprecedented adaptive damping, controlled by Tesla software and directly integrated into the Vehicle Dynamic Control system. Enough, on paper, to offer good handling to the electric car. To this we will add the brakes adapted to the circuit, which are now standard.
A more energy-efficient vehicle, available in the coming weeks
In terms of design and comfort, new sports seats equip the Tesla Model 3 Performance. They are also equipped with reinforced side supports which improve driving support, in addition to being ventilated and heated, a very pleasant little detail. Still in the passenger compartment, the dashboard, specific to this model, is made of carbon fiber.
Tesla claims that all these new features or improvements reduce the vehicle’s energy consumption by approximately 2%, compared to the previous generation of the Model 3 Performance. Finally, let’s finish with the price of the vehicle.
The Model 3 Performance is available at a price of 55,990 euros, or 752 euros/month. Certainly, it is 2,000 euros more than the previous generation, but the improvement in equipment partly explains this increase. Tesla adds that deliveries of the vehicle will begin during the second quarter, in other words, in the coming weeks.
