The Thing About Pam: the series with Renée Zellweger adapted from a news item arrives in France in March

After “What / If”, Renée Zellweger returns in March in “The Thing About Pam”, in which she plays the serial killer Pam Hupp. The series will be offered in US+24 on Salto.

The adaptation of miscellaneous facts has been on the rise in recent years. After Dear John, Unbelievable, The Act and American Crime Story, to name a few, it’s NBC’s turn to embark on the adventure with The Thing About Pam, a 6-episode mini-series carried by Renée Zellweger.

Broadcast from Tuesday March 8 on the American channel, the series will be available in US+24 from Wednesday March 9 on the French streaming platform Salto.

In The Thing About Pam, the Oscar-winning actress for her portrayal of Judy Garland plays Pam Hupp, a 60-year-old ex-life insurance manager who was sentenced to life in prison in 2016 for the murder of Louis Gumpenberger.

In 2021, she was found guilty for the murder of Betsy Faria, which occurred in 2011. At the time, she had succeeded in blaming everything on the husband of the deceased, Russ Faria, who was sentenced in her place although he never ceased to proclaim his innocence. The overturning of her conviction in 2015 relaunched the investigation that uncovered Pam Hupp’s diabolical plan.

In order to resemble the real Pam Hupp as much as possible, Renée Zellweger has once again undergone a radical physical transformation. If for the first two parts of Bridget Jones she had not hesitated to gain weight by restricting herself to a fattening diet, for The Thing About Pam, she chose to use a “fat suit” (a magnifying costume) and nose prostheses, which make her unrecognizable.

As for the supporting roles, Renée Zellweger will give the reply to Josh Duhamel (Las Vegas, Love, Simon), Judy Greer (30 years old or nothing), Glenn Fleshler (Barry) and Katy Mixon (American Housewife).
