François Louis Nicolas Pinault, eldest son of François-Henri Pinault, CEO of the luxury group Kering, joined the board of directors of the Christie’s auction house owned by the family holding company Artémis, where he will succeed his grandfather François Pinault.

François Louis Nicolas Pinault, 26, became a member of the board of directors of the London-based auction house on March 26, according to documents published on the British commercial register consulted Thursday by AFP and confirming information from Bloomberg.

According to these same documents, the young man designated as “product marketing manager” succeeds his grandfather François Pinault, 87 years old.

Christie’s is owned by the family holding company Artémis, founded in 1992 and whose CEO is François-Henri Pinault, 61, who owns several vineyards, press titles such as the weekly Le Point, a luxury cruise company Le Ponant or still active in sport such as Stade Rennais (Ligue 1 football).

Last September, Artémis announced that it would take control of the American talent agency Creative Artists Agency (CAA).

The holding company is also a majority shareholder of the French luxury group Kering (Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga) which is experiencing difficulties following the fall in sales of its flagship brand Gucci.
